Join the Alviera Christmas Jamboree - a Yuletide family bonding & adventure

Press release

Alviera Christmas Jamboree offers unique holiday camping adventure for families and first-time campers

Alviera offers a one-of-a-kind Christmas adventure for the whole family with the Christmas Jamboree on November 28 and 29 at Porac, Pampanga. It is a unique Yuletide celebration where you get to camp out under the stars and enjoy day-long arts and crafts workshops, live performances and holiday games.

During this weekend, SandBox transforms into a Christmas wonderland with festive workshop tents, life-sized Christmas displays and numerous parols or Pinoy Christmas lanterns lighting up the campsite. Alviera’s majestic 360-degree view of scenic hills and mountains enhance the fantasy setting.

“Alviera is here not just to merely create an economic hub, we are also making sure that the natural beauty of Porac is preserved and highlighted. Our role as a developer is to simply enhance God’s gift to us and the best way for people to appreciate this would be to bring them closer to nature through camping,” said John Estacio, Alviera General Manager.

Alviera is Ayala Land’s first masterplanned estate in the north, in partnership with Leonio Land. A 1,100 hectare development, it is inspired by a philosophy of harmonious balance between urban living and nature.

“The Alviera Christmas Jamboree gives you a glimpse of what to expect in Alviera in the future. Even at full development there will be open spaces for everyone to enjoy. More importantly, we want to provide opportunities where families can create moments they can share together,” added Estacio.

Packages to the Alviera Christmas Jamboree come in Day Dasher and Christmas Camper variants. The Day Dasher package, at P1,900 per person, includes roundtrip transportation from Manila to Alviera, free use of SandBox attractions, access to all Christmas Jamboree Day Workshops, passes to the evening entertainment, stage shows and Starlight Cinema outdoor movie theater.

The Christmas Camper package at P2,850 per person entitles participants to all Day Dasher inclusions plus overnight campsite stay, access to campsite-exclusive activities, free use of Coleman tents, exclusive use of SandBox in the morning of the second day, a bonfire treat complete with a set grilled dinner and buffet breakfast on Sunday morning.

As a family event, the Christmas Jamboree offers special rates for kids at P1,050 for Day Dasher and P1,750 for Christmas Camper for all children 4 feet below. Both packages come with travel insurance, Alviera Camp Bag, and a Christmas Passport that serves as your event journal that contains raffle stubs for exciting prizes.

Day Dashers will experience a full day’s worth of activities including arts and crafts activities such as Christmas cookie- making and designing angel souvenirs and parols. Guests can test one’s knowledge on Christmas trivia with Quiz Kringle. Each time they sign up for an activity, they get an entry to the hourly Jamboree raffle. There will also be all-day fun bubble activities with bubble artists.

Live entertainment begins at night with the “poi” or fire dancing and a Christmas carol serenade by some of the country’s top chorale groups. Guests can perform onstage during the Merry-oke open mic session, complete with a live brass band. After the Yuletide dinner, astronomy experts will lead constellation-tracking sessions. The “Starlight Cinema” opens from 9:00 p.m. until midnight to feature Christmas movie favorites.

Christmas Campers will enjoy the entire Day Dasher offering combined with premium camping activities such as a welcome bonfire with s’mores at the campsite and ukulele jam session while enjoying hot tsokolate served with biscochio. Campers can also learn to play the ukulele during the workshop. A Christmas breakfast buffet awaits them the next morning, as well as Christmas stockings filled with surprise holiday goodies.

The Alviera Christmas Jamboree is guaranteed to inspire lasting memories with families and friends. Christmas is a time for giving and for spending time with our loved ones, and this is what a merry Christmas adventure in Alviera is all about.

Tickets only are also available for purchase at P1,000 and P1,500 for Day Dasher and Christmas Camper and P500 and P800 for the kids’ rate respectively.

Boosting tourism in the North, Big Bite reinforces the city’s growing reputation as the culinary capital of the Philippines and is part of Angeles City’s Fiestang Kuliat, a month-long fiesta celebration in the city.

Visitors will also see culinary masters Chef Sau del Rosario, Lifestyle Network’s “Chef Next Door” Jonas Ng and Center for Asian Culinary Studies founder Chef Gene Gonzales whip up northern favorites in the live cooking demonstrations.

Competition heats up in the three-day cook-off among top culinary schools from the region.

The night we dined good food with one of the toughest glassware and cookware

Luminarc's Dinner Series with a group of select few food bloggers.

The Luminarc Philippines sponsored another night of gathering with fine food entitled Dinner Series in Cafe 1771, which was a celebration of home-cooked meals made best with Luminarc's fine and durable dinnerware and cooking ware. This time, the invited diners are select food bloggers from different places in Metro Manila.

The hosts:(L-R) Margaret Tieng, Nina Daza-Puyat, and Jay Oliver Dy.

The gathering was hosted by chef Nina Daza-Puyat, one of the country's top culinary personalities and the editor-in-chief of the Appetite Magazine. We were lucky to be among the invited few Metro Manila-based food bloggers to join her sharing intimate dinner together.

Also with her as hosts are Margaret Tieng, the Marketing Manager of KLG International Inc., and Jay Oliver Dy, the Country Manager of Luminarc Philippines.

The Cafe 1771 is in the second floor of this El Pueblo Real de Manila building along Julia Vargas corner ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The event was held at the Cafe 1771 in El Pueblo Real de Manila. It was an enjoyable get-together experience of conversation, merriment, and sharing the following good food:

Valle Verde Soup
A serving of carved Corned Beef Brisket
Corned Beef Brisket

Salt-crusted fish with bean, thyme, and extra virgin olive oil

Farfalle and Grilled Vegetable Salad with Italian dressing

Bread and Butter Pudding

We had a lively conversation that evening, mostly sharing the good experience with the Luminarc's featured new collection of Vitro cookwares - the LUMINARC VITRO most versatile cookware. The highly tempered glass cookware is so versatile that you can use it in baking, in microwave, as freezer food container, on fire or conduction heat stove, and as table serving dish.

Red wine that bolden the bloggers' lively conversation with the hosts
The food bloggers evening of Dinner Series

Luminarcs dining wares are almost unbreakable. The glass was even used to hammer down a nail on wood. The white tempered plate remained unbroken after several tests of dropping big metallic ball bearings on it.

You can treasure these high impact resistant dining ware as something that your family can pass on as puwedeng ipamana to the family's next gerenation.

Luminarc glassware are rigidly tough, being extra resistant to shock, it can be used to hammer down a nail into the wood like what chef Nina is doing here with Jay Dy watching.  You don't have to worry if it fall or drop accidentally on the floor. The test proves that you won't regret buying a collection of Luminarc dining ware and cookware products.

I personally tested the rigidity of Luminarc tempered dining plates. I lifted these metal ball bearings four to five feet high and dropped them directly on the plate. The bearings hit the plate with a loud impact sound. They just bounced back on the plate. I was amazed of Luminarc tempered plate. It remained intact - no chipping, no dent, not even a scratch.

Later that evening, I recalled how I was convinced to buy my first Luminarc plate. It was the rectangular sweet line black dinner plate (similar to the serving dish used for the salt-crusted fish, above). The sales attendant in the department store tossed the plate freely in the air that it landed squarely on the concrete floor. It just bounced and remained in one piece. I was so amazed that I bought that plate right away.

Edgie with chef Nina Daza-Puyat

Thank you Luminarc for that wonderful evening.

Ms. Nina Daza-Puyat addressing us her closing statement.

Thank you also Ms. Nina Daza-Puyat and to Cafe 1771 for that wonderful evening with fine food and new experience with Luminarc Vitro collection.

video: Luminarc Vitro Cooking

Originating from France, the new VITRO BLOOMING is an extended range of Luminarc’s Vitro cookware collection made by Arc International, the world leader in glass tableware manufacturing.

New and Improved Design
VITRO Blooming is inspired by French morning blooming rosebushes (water drop on flower) with a newly improved lid & bigger ears which allows you to hold it easily. The improved rim design also prevents soup spilled when pouring and with the lid that fits inside the rim, you will not have to face with problems of spills when cooking.

The Material
Luminarc Vitro is made of Vitro-ceramic material which guarantees exceptional thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance. The initial application of vitro-ceramic was originally used in partnership with NASA, for use on the exterior of space shuttles.

Versatility and Ease of Use in the Kitchen
Instead of separate cookware to boil, stew, steam, fry, roast and grill, Luminarc Vitro does it all, which can go from the freezer to the fire and directly to the table. Ideal for those who do not want the hassle of dishing food from cookware to serving ware, saving you time and less dishes to wash up later.

Easy to clean and dishwasher safe, it fits modern lifestyles making it a perfect addition to small and large kitchens.

Resistant to Thermal Shock
Vitro-ceramic can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 800°C and to tolerate fluctuations in temperature (up to 380°C), which means it can be transferred directly from freezer to oven or direct flame for reheating, thus saving precious time and energy. Furthermore, Luminarc Vitro has a warranty of 10 years that covers manufacturing and quality defects subject to usage in accordance to the use and care instructions. It does not cover wear and tear resulting from the normal aging of the product.
