The night we dined good food with one of the toughest glassware and cookware

Luminarc's Dinner Series with a group of select few food bloggers.

The Luminarc Philippines sponsored another night of gathering with fine food entitled Dinner Series in Cafe 1771, which was a celebration of home-cooked meals made best with Luminarc's fine and durable dinnerware and cooking ware. This time, the invited diners are select food bloggers from different places in Metro Manila.

The hosts:(L-R) Margaret Tieng, Nina Daza-Puyat, and Jay Oliver Dy.

The gathering was hosted by chef Nina Daza-Puyat, one of the country's top culinary personalities and the editor-in-chief of the Appetite Magazine. We were lucky to be among the invited few Metro Manila-based food bloggers to join her sharing intimate dinner together.

Also with her as hosts are Margaret Tieng, the Marketing Manager of KLG International Inc., and Jay Oliver Dy, the Country Manager of Luminarc Philippines.

The Cafe 1771 is in the second floor of this El Pueblo Real de Manila building along Julia Vargas corner ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The event was held at the Cafe 1771 in El Pueblo Real de Manila. It was an enjoyable get-together experience of conversation, merriment, and sharing the following good food:

Valle Verde Soup
A serving of carved Corned Beef Brisket
Corned Beef Brisket

Salt-crusted fish with bean, thyme, and extra virgin olive oil

Farfalle and Grilled Vegetable Salad with Italian dressing

Bread and Butter Pudding

We had a lively conversation that evening, mostly sharing the good experience with the Luminarc's featured new collection of Vitro cookwares - the LUMINARC VITRO most versatile cookware. The highly tempered glass cookware is so versatile that you can use it in baking, in microwave, as freezer food container, on fire or conduction heat stove, and as table serving dish.

The food bloggers evening of Dinner Series

Luminarcs dining wares are almost unbreakable. The glass was even used to hammer down a nail on wood. The white tempered plate remained unbroken after several tests of dropping big metallic ball bearings on it.

You can treasure these high impact resistant dining ware as something that your family can pass on as puwedeng ipamana to the family's next gerenation.

Luminarc glassware are rigidly tough, being extra resistant to shock, it can be used to hammer down a nail into the wood like what chef Nina is doing here with Jay Dy watching.  You don't have to worry if it fall or drop accidentally on the floor. The test proves that you won't regret buying a collection of Luminarc dining ware and cookware products.

I personally tested the rigidity of Luminarc tempered dining plates. I lifted these metal ball bearings four to five feet high and dropped them directly on the plate. The bearings hit the plate with a loud impact sound. They just bounced back on the plate. I was amazed of Luminarc tempered plate. It remained intact - no chipping, no dent, not even a scratch.

Later that evening, I recalled how I was convinced to buy my first Luminarc plate. It was the rectangular sweet line black dinner plate (similar to the serving dish used for the salt-crusted fish, above). The sales attendant in the department store tossed the plate freely in the air that it landed squarely on the concrete floor. It just bounced and remained in one piece. I was so amazed that I bought that plate right away.

Thank you Luminarc for that wonderful evening.

COOKINGWARE FEATURE:

Luminarc Introduces the new VITRO BLOOMING
Cooking in Full Happiness

video: Luminarc Vitro Cooking

Originating from France, the new VITRO BLOOMING is an extended range of Luminarc’s Vitro cookware collection made by Arc International, the world leader in glass tableware manufacturing.

New and Improved Design
VITRO Blooming is inspired by French morning blooming rosebushes (water drop on flower) with a newly improved lid & bigger ears which allows you to hold it easily. The improved rim design also prevents soup spilled when pouring and with the lid that fits inside the rim, you will not have to face with problems of spills when cooking.

The Material
Luminarc Vitro is made of Vitro-ceramic material which guarantees exceptional thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance. The initial application of vitro-ceramic was originally used in partnership with NASA, for use on the exterior of space shuttles.

Versatility and Ease of Use in the Kitchen
Instead of separate cookware to boil, stew, steam, fry, roast and grill, Luminarc Vitro does it all, which can go from the freezer to the fire and directly to the table. Ideal for those who do not want the hassle of dishing food from cookware to serving ware, saving you time and less dishes to wash up later.

Easy to clean and dishwasher safe, it fits modern lifestyles making it a perfect addition to small and large kitchens.

Resistant to Thermal Shock
Vitro-ceramic can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 800°C and to tolerate fluctuations in temperature (up to 380°C), which means it can be transferred directly from freezer to oven or direct flame for reheating, thus saving precious time and energy. Furthermore, Luminarc Vitro has a warranty of 10 years that covers manufacturing and quality defects subject to usage in accordance to the use and care instructions. It does not cover wear and tear resulting from the normal aging of the product.

100% Hygienic / Non Porous
Luminarc Vitro is produced with the latest technology and made from pure and natural materials with extremely fine pores, anitbacterial, odor and stain free, making your food 100% safe and hygienic for consumption.

Luminarc Vitro collection is available at SM, Robinson’s, Landmark, Metro Department stores, www.lazada.com.ph in Metro Manila and other major home department stores nationwide.
